Seo Lay completed her postgraduate diploma in counselling psychology with the College of Allied Educators. A Psychology major from NUS, she went on to explore other interests after graduation. 

After over 20 years of professional work spanning academia, private and public sectors where she held research and policy portfolios, Seo Lay finds herself revisiting her first interest and now hopes to help others work through their mental health issues and find personal fulfilment in life. Her decision to retrain as a counsellor is also encouraged by friends and ex colleagues who often confide in her and find her easy to talk to. 

Seo Lay believes strongly in client empowerment, through helping the client harness his/her own inner resource and strengths.  

In working with her clients, she mainly draws concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Family Systems Therapy. 

Besides counselling, she completed the Professional Coaching Development Programme with the Collective Change Institute in 2019

• Bachelor of Social Sciences  with Honours (Psychology)
• Diploma in Counselling Psychology
• Certified Prepare/Enrich Practitioner
